Overseas investors are set to reap the benefits of new flights between Northern Ireland and continental Europe.
Low-cost airline easyJet is launching flights to Venice in Italy and the Spanish city Barcelona, potentially triggering a surge in visitor numbers to these areas.
The budget carrier said that both business and leisure travellers in Northern Ireland would benefit from the reduced journey times, which could make the locations more viable investment markets to people in the province.
David Osborne, UK general manager at easyJet, continued: "We have ensured that the travelling public no longer have to endure lengthy connections through London airports and can now fly directly to the main airports of Europe's major cities."
He added that the introduction of new services from Belfast showed how the firm was committed to expanding its presence in Northern Ireland.
The increased accessibility is likely to be welcomed by prospective investors in the province, who were recently advised by the Telegraph to purchase a property situated near an airport, ideally one that was serviced by budget airlines.
