The best ski resort in Europe can be found in Italy, according to the results of a recent survey.
Overseas property investors with homes in the country could benefit from the news that Alta Badia has been named Europe's number one skiing destination by the Italian Touring Club Study Centre.
According to snowbrainer.co.uk, the survey examined every major winter sports station in the Alps and found the Italian resort to be the best in terms of 'quality'.
The report praised Alta Badia's spectacular "geographical situation and mountain setting", while also commenting favourably on its accommodation, ski lifts and other facilities.
Another Italian destination, Val Gardena, was rated as Europe's second best ski resort alongside Zermatt in Switzerland.
Many Alpine resorts have already experienced heavy snowfalls this month, leading travel experts to predict a bumper season for skiing operators in Europe.
