Sicilian property hailed as good value

Property on the Italian island of Sicily is very good value, it has been stated.

Finance Daily has quoted a recent report by propertyshowrooms.com, which stated: "Apartments and villas in Sicily comprise some of the best value real estate to be found in Italy, making the island a highly popular property location for overseas buyers."

It added that this point has been backed up by other experts on property in Italy, such as the director of Homes in Italy, Mark Slaviero.

Mr Slaviero said an investment in Sicily would be a good move because the price of homes in the southern half of Italy will "definitely" rise in the next three years.

In a recent article about the island, the Daily Telegraph said Sicily is a major tourist hotspot and has a very strong rental market.

Although there is not yet a bridge to mainland Italy, British visitors can reach the island easily by flying to any of the three airports at Palermo, Catania or Trapani, the paper noted.
