Growing demand among global consumers to fly to Africa has driven a worldwide increase in air passenger numbers.
Research by Airports Council International found that during the year to October 2007, the overall number of air passengers across the world went up by six per cent.
According to the organisation, much of this increase came about as a result of growing demand for flights to African countries.
In particular, Morocco and South Africa were highlighted as two of the most popular destinations.
This suggests that the tourist sector in these countries is expanding, therefore leading to growing demand for rental accommodation.
Morocco has just been recommended as a good location for overseas property buyers by a British media outlet.
The Independent stated that its warm climate and affordable house prices made it a good alternative to the UK during the winter months.
