The African country of Morocco has been praised by a holiday home buyer for its natural beauty and culture.
Peter Cowie from London bought a property for renovation in Morocco earlier this year along with his wife Rebecca.
The home was intended to be used as both an investment and as holiday accommodation, allowing them to enjoy the financial rewards and lifestyle benefits of owning a house overseas.
Speaking to the Times, Mr Cowie said he intended to add features such as new terraces to the £200,000 property, which is located in Marrakesh.
He commented: "I plan to sit on the roof with an ice-cold gin and tonic and watch the sun set over the medina and Atlas Mountains."
Mr Cowie added that there was "a real buzz" in Morocco, as he enjoyed experiencing the African culture and surroundings.
This comes after the country's tourism department published figures showing that between January and July this year, 261,000 Britons visited for a holiday.
