Lifestyle buyers enter Moroccan market-170708

Morocco is becoming increasingly popular with overseas property buyers from the UK, experts have stated.

According to Currencies Direct, the north African country is proving to be especially appealing to lifestyle buyers, such as retirees who wish to live abroad.

Mark O'Sullivan, director of dealing at the group, attributed this to a number of factors, such as the natural beauty of its coastlines.

Speaking to the Telegraph, he commented: "Morocco benefits from coasts on the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, giving the growing number of retirees that we have witnessed purchas¬ing property there a choice of dramatic beach locations."

However, Mr O'Sullivan added that the country's healthcare system falls some way behind European standards.

Therefore, he has recommended that retirement-age Britons take out private health insurance in case they fall ill at some point in the future.

Morocco was recently flagged up as a potentially lucrative investment market by Homes Overseas magazine, which said house prices are likely to go up "significantly" over the next few years.
