Morocco has been hailed as Africa's top tourist destination this year, something that may help boost the holiday lettings market.
The country was honoured with the accolade at the annual African Business Awards.
Recognition of the north African nation's efforts to bring in more overseas visitors was based on its Vision 2010 plan, which aims to reach an annual total of ten million visitors by next year.
The website quoted head of the Moroccan tourist board in the UK Ali El Kasmi as saying: "We are delighted to have won such an accolade. Morocco offers a quality product and a cultural destination full of energy, mysticism and spice."
Recent figures from the United Nations World Tourism Barometer showed that Africa was the only continent in the world to see a rise in visitor numbers this year.
It noted that a major reason for this was the strong performance of north African countries on the Mediterranean coast.
