Many British leisure travellers are set to visit north Africa during the next few months, experts have stated.
According to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), the region is very popular because it offers a warmer alternative to the cold winter in the UK.
This was said to be important to many people from Britain, as the country had recently experienced the wettest summer on record.
In addition, ABTA stated that many people who tried to book last-minute bargains during the downpours had been unable to do so, as many of the best deals had already been booked up.
Sean Tipton, spokesperson for the organisation, told the Western Mail: "Everything had sold out and a lot of people didn't get to go abroad so there's been a ten per cent rise in winter sun holidays."
This comes after UK newspaper the Independent highlighted Morocco as a good destination for overseas property buyers to consider.
The publication praised the country for offering a warm climate during the winter, as well as affordable house prices.
