Portugal's Silver Coast tipped for house price boom

A property investment analyst has recommended that speculators scouring the Algarve for possible acquisitions should concentrate on the Silver Coast.
Nicholas Marr, chief executive officer of international property portal Homesgofast.com, has said that house prices in the area are already rising more rapidly than anywhere else in the Algarve.
And he has predicted that this growth will accelerate in the future as the area reaps the benefits of Beja airport becoming operational in 2008.
"We view the hotspot as the Silver Coast … where properties are normally half the price of the central Algarve and they've got good quality and potential," he affirmed.
Earlier this year, housing analyst Neil Faulkner outlined the key issues that investors should consider when deciding whether to buy a new foreign property.
In an article for finance website The Motley Fool, he recommended that buyers take into account currency exchange rate trends, foreign property taxes and likely prospects for the region before making a final decision.
