Overseas property investors in Portugal are likely to welcome the launch of new flights to the country.

Low-cost airline easyJet started operating its new service from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Lisbon today.

The flights, which will depart four times a week, represent a further boost to the accessibility of the European mainland from locally-based UK airports.

This could result in the creation of new investment opportunities in Lisbon, as increased tourism would result in more demand for holiday accommodation.

In addition, people in the Merseyside area who are considering investing in a foreign property market may consider Lisbon a viable option because it will be more easily accessible.

Portugal was recently highlighted as one of the most popular locations for British families by Gatwick Airport.

The facility placed Faro in a list of the ten most-visited locations during the school half-term break.
