The Algarve city of Faro will be the focus of footballing attention today when Sweden's women take on their US counterparts in the final of the Algarve Cup.
As well as the ball skills on display, the match will showcase the facilities at the Estadio Algarve, which was constructed for the 2004 European Championships.
The venue, constructed on the boundaries of Faro and Loule, is shared between two clubs, SC Farense and Louletano DC.
Located in a park, the venue offers a number of other features that may attract Algarve property buyers to the city, such as an athletics track, tennis courts and botanic gardens.
Faro is one of a number of destinations that has seen a surge in holiday interest, according to low cost airline bmibaby.
The budget carrier revealed last week that February saw 1.3 million searches on its website from people keen to fly to Alicante, Malaga, Barcelona or Faro, compared with 87,500 in January.
