Portugal recommended to property buyers

Portugal has been flagged up as an ideal location for overseas property buyers to consider.

According to Gulf Weekly, the European country has been a favoured destination for many years, as it offers an affordable and solid market.

This was said to have helped make it very popular with people who are buying for lifestyle purposes, in particular retired expatriates.

Gulf Weekly commented: "Large numbers of retired Britons are choosing to make the most of Portugal's excellent climate and strong standard of living by relocating to the country."

The media outlet stated that foreign property buyers can pick from a wide variety of possible homes, including small farmhouses, modern apartments and luxury villas.

In addition, it said people can also take up the option of buying an off-plan property in Portugal .

The Times recently cited figures from the Portuguese Real Estate Association showing that 18,000 Britons purchased a home in the country last year.
