Transylvania and the Carpathian mountains are two of Romania's most attractive locations, one tour operator has suggested.
According to Transylvania Live, this region of the country features a number of popular destinations, such as the Bran, Peles, Savarsin and Corvinesti castles.
And Professor Duncan Light from Liverpool Hope University explained that tourism to such areas - which are synonymous with the legend of the vampire Dracula - can help boost the overall perception of the country.
"I agree with those people who say that Dracula is a way to get foreign tourists into Romania, creating an opportunity to show them all the other things the country can offer," he remarked.
Property investors looking to make purchases in Romania may wish to do so in these areas, as visitors who travel to the country to visit such attractions may decide to rent property in the area.
Real estate firm DTZ Echinox recently suggested that Romania's residential rental market is likely to grow further in 2009.
