The island also offers a dynamic cultural and entertainment environment, being rich in modern, man-made tourist attractions. Beautiful parks, gardens, rivers and an abundance of wildlife complement these facilities, making it a multi-faceted destination to suit the needs of investors and tourists alike. About 23% of Singapore is composed of forests and nature reserves, while much of the built-on land has been reclaimed using earth from its hills and sea beds. Some of Singapore’s 63 islands have been merged together in order to form larger, more functional islands, such as Jurong Island.
