UK consumers are choosing a variety of destinations for breaks over the Christmas and New Year period, research has revealed.
According to Abta - The Travel Association - destinations such as Tenerife, Egypt, Turkey are all popular with winter travellers, many of whom are planning to leave the UK in order to spend time with their friends and family in a warmer climate over Christmas.
And the body also notes that Dubai is proving a popular choice, with extra flights being laid on from Manchester airport to the emirate.
The 19th, 20th and 27th of December have been highlighted by Abta as peak times for Britons visiting such destinations, dates overseas property investors may wish to take note of as they could see increased demand for rentable homes during this period.
Buyers looking to own property in Dubai have been advised by property expert Mohammed Kashani-Akhavan that it is one of the ideal locations for long-term investment, due to the liklehood of property supply decreasing in the future.
