Southern Spain is set to become even more accessible to property investors and holidaymakers with the launch of new routes from Alicante by Ryanair.
The Irish low-cost airline has revealed plans to add a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its base at the Spanish airport this summer, allowing it to provide flights to Bristol and Ireland.
According to Ryanair, the new routes will increase its annual passenger traffic at Alicante to 2 million and generate over 200 million euros in tourism revenue for the area.
Introducing the new flights, Ryanair's Stephen McNamara commented: "Ryanair’s passengers will sustain thousands of local jobs and provide millions in tourism revenues at Alicante, Bristol and Edinburgh."
The carrier is also launching new routes from Edinburgh to destinations such as Poitiers and Rome.
Ryanair's daily flights between Alicante and Bristol are due to commence on July 3rd.
Travel expert Simon Calder recently claimed that Spain is set to retain its status as the UK's "absolute favourite country" for holidays this year.
