Buying properties overseas for the purpose of renting them out is a great opportunity for investors, one organisation has said.
According to Sara Service Spain, buying properties in Europe, especially Mediterranean areas, is still popular with investors.
Spain in particular offers "wonderful new developments in fantastic locations being offered off-plan at very attractive prices", the firm said.
"Buying an off-plan property in Spain [?] is a cost-effective means of acquiring a quality property with the intention of using the property as an investment for letting or as a second home."
It added that other factors behind Spain's popularity are the warm climate and relatively cheap properties that are available to investors hoping to make a profit.
Furthermore, flight paths from other UK, Ireland and mainland European destinations have helped to boost the popularity of Spain as tourist hotspot.
Earlier this month, internet property forum Homes Worldwide said it is crucial that Spanish property investors employ an independent lawyer to conduct the sale, as they will be able to check that planning permission has been correctly obtained.
