Areas in Spain 'experiencing good capital growth'

Regions in Spain such as Almeria and Costa Tropical are witnessing "good capital growth", Buy Abroad reported today.

These areas are still relatively under-developed and provide excellent opportunities for buyers looking for long-term investments in Spain.

The important to consider when looking to the Spanish property market for capital growth is location, John Reilly, managing director for Buy Abroad, said.

"Certainly Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca have suffered from oversupply and that has depressed prices in some areas. But places like Almeria and [Costa] Tropical are still experiencing good capital growth and there's still plenty of buyers," he said.

In Spain, he explained, "it tends to be people who are looking for a long-term investment not a short-term investment".

"With Spain, it's a buyers market and you have to choose that location or the area that you're buying in carefully if you want capital growth."

Almeria and the Costa Tropical are located in Andalusia, in the south of Spain. The Costa de Almeria is tucked away between the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol.
