Spain is the most popular destination for British investors looking to purchase a property abroad, according to financial provider HSBC.
The firm stated that more than 500,000 British property owners have invested in real estate in the country.
"Low interest rates, cheap and frequent flights and the development of a range of services aimed at the large community of British expatriates have made it easier than ever to buy," the firm claimed.
Launching a new partnership with Solbank, HSBC said that its customers can now access favourable Spanish mortgage terms and other banking services when they choose to invest in the country's property market.
Paul Collins, overseas property editor at BuyAssociation recently stated that Spain, like France and Portugal, remains one of the most popular destinations for British retirees.
However, a number of emerging locations, such as Bulgaria, may become increasingly popular with people looking to retire abroad over the next five to ten years, he added.
