Spain is proving to be one of the most popular destinations for British retirees abroad, continuing to attract older Brits looking for somewhere to retire in the sun.
Property investors can look to take advantage of these trends and sustained demand, with figures from Saga suggesting that fifteen per cent of holiday home buyers are seeking a base for retirement.
In addition, increased demand for Spanish properties reflects a buoyant market in general.
"Feedback from our customers shows that this is down to a number of things such as climate, cost of living and ease of access due to the range of cheap flights available," stated a Saga spokesperson.
Spain remains the most popular country, followed by France, Portugal and Cyprus, she added.
Saga recently highlighted easier and more affordable overseas retirement as a key factor in the growth in people choosing to retire abroad.
