Demand for overseas property among Britons is set to increase further, experts have predicted.
Thinkproperty.com stated that during the last six months, interest in purchasing property abroad had gone up "steadily".
As a result, the firm has predicted that this trend will continue for the foreseeable future.
This comes alongside the findings of a new poll which found that one in four Britons who were interested in buying abroad wanted to purchase a property in Spain.
The survey also showed that most people's ideal homes would be located by the sea, while people also expressed a desire to live in a quiet area that had access to good amenities.
Mark Goddard, managing director of Thinkproperty.com, said: "Our new report gives a good indication of what homeowners want from a property abroad, giving estate agents a clearer picture of what consumers are looking for."
The figures come after research from Halifax found that Spain's housing market saw the fastest rate of growth between 2002 and 2007.
