The Spanish town of Muro de Alcoy has been named as the most popular investment location in the country.
Research by Kyero.com found that the town, located in the Alicante region, was the most popular place for overseas investors to purchase Spanish property.
Numerous factors behind its popularity were highlighted, including the good climate and low property prices.
However, its accessibility was also cited as a major factor, as the town was less than hour away from an international airport serviced by low-cost carriers.
The website said: "The difference between being the number one destination in Spain and number four is keeping the journey time to and from the airport under an hour."
According to figures from Kyero.com, property values in Muro de Alcoy have risen by almost a quarter during the last year.
Recently, Halifax stated that average property prices in Spain rose by 100 per cent between 2002 and 2007.
