Clubbers 'rate Spain highly'

Spain's nightlife has been rated as the best clubbing experience in the world by holidaymakers.

A poll of international travellers by FutureBrand revealed that the country was widely seen as the number one destination for a good night out.

Many different Spanish cities were praised for their nightlife, including Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona, as well as the island of Ibiza.

Enrique Ruiz de Lera of the National Tourist Office welcomed the findings, saying that he was "very pleased" with the views of visiting holidaymakers.

He commented: "It just goes to show the internationally used Spanish word for parties, 'fiesta', is not by chance."

The study also found that Spain was seen as one of the best marketed holiday destinations overseas, which could help account for its continued popularity in countries such as the UK.

According to Co-operative Travel, many Britons are set to visit Spain during the forthcoming Christmas season in order to enjoy warmer weather.
