Veteran rock star Rick Parfitt has told a newspaper about his experience of living in Spain.

The Status Quo guitarist told the Evening Post that he and his wife decided to move out to their Spanish villa last year.

Speaking 12 months later, he said it had allowed them to enjoy a lifestyle that was more relaxing than the one they had become used to.

Parfitt added that Spain was much more peaceful than the UK, making it a "lovely contrast" to his work in a famously loud rock band.

Speaking to the newspaper, he commented: "You actually think that other people can hear your tinnitus it's that quiet."

The guitarist went on to praised the Spanish weather, as people in the country can enjoy sunny conditions for 12 months of the year.

However, Parfitt will have to endure the British winter until Christmas, as he is currently touring the UK with Status Quo.
