People can overcome seasonal depression by booking a trip abroad, a newspaper has suggested.
Irish publication the Kilkenny Advertiser stated that many people felt miserable at this time of year due to the dreary weather and post-Christmas debt.
This has prompted the media outlet to suggest that people book their summer holiday early, as it would give people a long period of time in which to pay it off and provide them with something to look forward to.
The newspaper commented: "January is notorious for the onslaught of winter blues and one of the best ways of dealing with the condition is to book a holiday.
In addition, it stated that the prospect of guaranteed sunshine could potentially calm the onset of Seasonal Affected Disorder.
This follows a report in the Meath Chronicle which revealed that Irish consumers are booking early due to fears of a repeat of last summer's torrential rains.
