A millionaire is raffling off his Spanish villa and luxury lifestyle near Benidorm. Wayne Connell is following in the footsteps of Devon's Brian Wilshaw who is also auctioning off his 11.5 acre estate, Oldborough Retreat.
Connell moved to Spain 12 years ago in order to set up his own tourist business, which he is now raffling off in a prize draw, reports Newcastle's Evening Chronicle. He lives in a £1m villa just 15 minutes' from Benidorm with private pool, Jacuzzi and gym.
As well as the eight-bedroom mansion the winner will also get Connell's £4m 'Wild West Ranch', a restaurant with can-can dancers, gunfights, cowboy shows and live music. The £5m prize also includes his £35,000 Harley Davidson.
"So many of our friends and visitors have said, 'When I win the lottery I'm coming back for this place'," said the 45-year old. "We love the thought of someone having the life-changing opportunity of winning this dream lifestyle. And it gets us out of the hassle of the property market with broken chains and viewings."
In order to cover the costs Connell, from Dunston near Gateshead, needs to sell 200,000 tickets and he hopes that a "fellow Geordie" wins. Tickets for Connell's luxury lifestyle cost £25 via newyearmillionaire.com until January 5th 2009.
Connell and his wife Suzanne are planning to move to the US to join their sons who are buying a villa in Orlando.
In June Brian Wilson from Crediton, Devon announced that he was raffling off his estate, Oldborough Retreat, which comes with a five-bedroom house, 9.5 acres of woodland, two holiday lodges and a two-acre fishing lake.
