A new low-cost air service to the Canary Islands has been unveiled by Jet2.com.
The budget airline is to start a new Belfast to Tenerife service on Fridays, commencing on October 30th.
Head of the airline Philip Meeson said the flights, for which tickets will start at GBP 68.99 one-way, will help bring more visitors to the island.
"It is a beautiful island, which is hugely popular with holidaymakers from the UK and we expect a huge influx of travellers on our flights," he commented.
The move could help boost property investment on Tenerife.
Spanish property as a whole may be set to benefit from a recent resolution in the European parliament, which voted to suspend aid to Spain unless it reformed its planning laws to prevent excessive coastal urbanisation.
Such a change could help protect those buying property on the coast from seeing it hemmed in by further development.
