Transport links between the UK and Spain are to be improved thanks to a new route from Jet2, which may interest people with property in the nation.
The flights will be travelling between Glasgow in Scotland and Alicante, Tenerife and Majorca in Spain. They will begin operation in April 2011, in time for next year's busy summer holiday season.
Glasgow Airport managing director Amanda McMillan told the Evening Times: "Jet2.com is one of the UK’s most successful leisure airlines. Its 2011 programme includes many of the Mediterranean’s most popular destinations and some newer favourites, such as Tunisia and Egypt."
Spain has long been a holiday favourite with UK residents and people with property in Spain can make a good business renting it out to holidaymakers. Recent figures from Experian Hitwise highlighted that popular holiday hotspots within the nation such as Tenerife, Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona, Majorca and Lanzarote all came in the top 50 searched for flight destinations this summer.
