Interest in real estate in the Balearics and Canaries could be set to rise after one expert suggested that visitor numbers are increasing.
Carmen Hernandez Gomez, market analyst at the Spanish Tourism Office, explained that destinations in the north of the country are increasing in popularity thanks to the interest in food and wine.
"New destinations in the north are also becoming popular due to the interest in food and wine. Asturias, Galicia, Leon and other regions are well connected [with] direct flights and offer new experiences to those who already know some parts of Spain and want to do something different," Ms Gomez added.
The news may encourage a number of individuals to consider purchasing property in Spain to take advantage of the growing tourism market.
Meanwhile, a new survey has found the as a result of government spending cuts and austerity measures holidaymakers are rethinking their travel plans.
Lloyds TSB Insurance explained that house-swapping for holidays is making a comeback, with Spain the most popular travel destination.
