The climate and beaches are two of the main reasons why there is a constant influx of holidaymakers to the Canary Islands, it has been claimed.
Tour guide for the island of Fuerteventura Andreas Caliman explained that the isle features over 55km of beaches and receives almost 3,000 hours of sunlight each year.
"Many people come here just for the light, it's a kind of light therapy," he remarked.
And overseas property investors considering purchasing property on the island may be interested to note that the number of people buying homes in the area "has been growing all through the last years".
However, he also noted that the real estate business is beginning to decline, which could result in property prices decreasing.
Nigel Salmon of Girasol Homes recently noted that mainland Spain has a number of opportunities for property investors looking to purchase cheap property, describing it as being "like Aladdin's cave".
