Those planning on purchasing property in Spain could find Girona a good place to invest because "the towns are beautiful [and] the people are friendly", it has been claimed.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Sara Wilson - who moved to the region from Devon having holidayed there as a child - said that it is an ideal place for she and her family, as her home is close to beaches, ski slopes and transport connections to Barcelona.
The news source praised the "great beaches, rural escapes and fantastic golf" in the province, noting that a growing number of developments have been created with golfers in mind.
Property investors are also advised that Girona is home to "colourful fishing villages", historic architecture, the famous Michelin-starred El Bulli restaurant and the Mediterranean town of Cadaques, a favourite haunt of Spanish painters Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.
Spanish Property Owners Guild spokesman Paul Bradley recently forecast that demand for top-of-the-range properties in the country will rise, as the UK market starts to return.
