Many Britons may be more inclined to buy a property abroad after their recent holidays, analysts have suggested.
According to Moneyspider.com, the peak tourism season typically fuels people's desire to relocate to another country.
Tony Ahearne, spokesperson for the organisation, said this trend is particularly apparent among older Britons.
He commented: "Returning from holiday to a grey and windswept Britain still in the grip of the credit crunch may well be the final straw for a great many over-60s this summer."
However, Mr Ahearne added that economic factors such as the declining housing market and the strong euro could affect people's emigration plans.
Therefore, he has suggested that people carry out "financial healthchecks" in order to make sure a move is affordable.
This comes after a study by Saga Travel Money found that traditional hotspots such as Spain are still very popular with older British expatriates.
