People who are purchasing an overseas property in Spain have been advised to take a number of issues into account.
According to the Spanish Property Owners Guild, prospective buyers need to familiar with the country's legal system.
Paul Bradley, spokesperson for the organisation, said this would help them to make sure that their lawyer knows what they are doing.
He stated d that getting an independent legal representative could also be a good idea, as they would have no affiliation with the seller.
Therefore, investors would be less likely to encounter any potential problems further down the line.
Mr Bradley added that buyers also need to pick their ideal location carefully, as it needs to be appropriate to their personal and medical long-term requirements.
This comes after Paul Collins of BuyAssociation stated that overseas property buyers could potentially snap up some "great deals" in Spain.
