An airline has confirmed that rising fuel prices will not affect its plans to expand further at Norwich Airport.
Earlier this week, LTE International Airways began offering direct flights from the airport to Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, and Alicante.
Michael Harrington, managing director of the carrier, has confirmed that additional services to Spain will be launched later this year.
However, he admitted with fuel prices at their current level, it has not been an easy environment for airlines to work in.
Speaking to the Eastern Daily Press, he commented: "But we have a plan and we are sticking to that plan."
Mr Harrington added that he hopes LTE will be the principal carrier between Norwich Airport and Spain.
The improved connectivity could lead to the country becoming a more appealing location among prospective holiday home buyers in Norfolk.
Alternatively, the potential boost to tourism is likely to make it a good option for buy-to-let investors.
This comes after Reuters cited official figures showing that during the first quarter of the year, Spain attracted 10.6 million holidaymakers.
