Mallorca 'most stable' market in Spain

Mallorca has been labelled as the best and most stable property market of any part of Spain.

Experts from Spanish Hot Properties told property portal Bye Bye Blighty that the island has benefited from an increasingly upmarket reputation in recent years, reports Homes Worldwide.

Factors to which its success has been attributed also include the lack of overbuilding, with the island currently seeing an increase in planning approvals, in contrast with other parts of the country.

Britons are among the main buyers there, with 19,000 permanent residents and 60,000 second home owners.

The comments from Spanish Hot Property follow a recent survey of property searches for Spanish locations via the Google search engine in July this year.

It showed that Mallorca has 6.9 per cent of searches, second only to Tenerife as the trend showed the Spanish islands to be overtaking the mainland for popularity.
