Low-cost carrier easyJet has announced that it will fly to several Spanish destinations from Southend Airport, starting in April 2012.
And real estate firm Taylor Wimpey de Espana believes that this could be a boost for people looking for a house or flat in Spain.
Ignacio Osle, sales and marketing director at the organisation, commented: "For people buying property overseas it is important that they have affordable and easy access to their property."
He added that the new easyJet routes to Barcelona, Mallorca, Alicante, Ibiza and Malaga could help those who already own a dwelling in one of these locations to capitalise on holiday rentals, generating "healthy incomes".
Last month, the airline revealed that four out of the five most popular destinations for Brits to travel to this summer are in Spain, with Malaga topping the list.
Alicante, Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona are the other favourites, with Faro in Portugal the only non-Spanish location to appear in the top five.
