Second home buyers encouraged to buy in Spain

Prospective investors in foreign property are to be encouraged to purchase a residence in Spain.

Budget carrier Monarch Airlines offers many flights to the established European market and will promote the country to people who are considering buying a home overseas.

Property in Spain will be marketed to potential buyers at the A Place in the Sun Live shows which are taking place across the UK throughout the year.

Monarch is acting as an official partner of the event and will take the opportunity to advertise the destinations it regularly services.

Portugal and Cyprus will also be among the locations being promoted to prospective investors.

Liz Savage, managing director of Monarch, said she was "delighted" to be participating in the event.

She commented: "The partnership firmly positions Monarch as the airline of choice for overseas property owners who fly frequently between the UK and their overseas property."

According to the Office for National Statistics revealed that almost 850,000 UK nationals now own a foreign property.
