Spain offering "golden opportunities"

The success of a UK and Spain-based property firm has resulted in the creation of "outstanding opportunities" for buyers considering purchasing property in Spain, it has been claimed.

According to Nigel Salmon, managing director of Girasol Homes, the company has a variety of properties available all over the country, with an increase in the number of repossessed and distressed homes due to the credit crunch resulting in one of the company's busiest quarters.

"It's like Aladdin's cave," Mr Salmon remarked. He added: "This crisis has provided a very lucrative opportunity for everyday people to get ahead either for permanent living or for investment," noting that the financial crisis is providing "golden opportunities" for buyers looking for property in Spain and the surrounding islands.

Transport links between the south-west of England and Spain are set to improve next year, after flight operator Teleticket announced new routes to some of the country's most poplular destinations.
