Spain has come second in a recent survey into the quality of life in Europe, it has been revealed.
According to a study by uSwitch which took into account 16 variables including net income, VAT, life expectancy and the cost of essentials, only France has a better quality of life that Spain.
Indeed, the country enjoys the largest amount of sunshine than any of its European neighbours and also boasts the highest number of days holiday in Europe.
And potential property buyers in the country may have even more to smile about if they are able to purchase one of the distressed properties now on the market.
Spain was among three nations which reported a rise in the number of distressed properties coming to the market in the second quarter of 2010.
Data released by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors found that 13 out of the 25 countries surveyed reported distressed sales, with Spain, Portugal and Germany reporting that distress in the market is increasing at a faster pace than last quarter.
