Spain is still one of the most popular countries in the world among Brits looking for a home overseas.
Research conducted by Caxton FX for the Independent on Sunday revealed the nation took second place in a list of the top ten destinations for property purchases abroad. Only France was more popular among respondents.
Speaking to the newspaper, Marc Pritchard, from Taylor Wimpey de Espana, commented: "Spain's climate, infrastructure, ease of access from the UK, combined with good hospitals and healthcare system, political stability, timeless tourism appeal and affordable housing market draws buyers in their droves."
The publication went on to advise those seeking a property in Spain to approach the current market with caution, noting that while there are significant discounts to be found it is important to choose a high-quality development.
Jon Ainge, director of International Property Success, recently asserted the reason why Brits continue to be attracted to Spanish real estate is that many buyers prefer to stick to what they know, rather than exploring less familiar overseas markets.
