Despite going through a turbulent few years which has seen prices fall by as much as 40 per cent in some regions, the appeal of owning a property in Spain is unlikely to fade for many Brits.
This is according to real estate portal Rightmove, which believes that the country's favourable lifestyle and climate will continue to prove tempting to emigrating Brits.
"The draw of Spain for lifestyle buyers is still strong and I don't see that ending any time soon," Robin Wilson, head of overseas at the firm explained.
Mr Wilson added that a large number of potential homeowners in the country are hoping to take advantage of the low prices which are currently on offer, as a result of the market crash.
The latest data from Spain's National Statistics Institute shows that home values fell by 0.1 per cent during the forth quarter of 2010 and decreased annually by 1.9 per cent, although some analysts say the yearly decline is much greater.
