Spanish appeal attracting investors back to the market

Spain is one of the top five countries for individuals to invest in property abroad, according to one expert.

Amanda Lamb, presenter of A Place in the Sun, has claimed that alongside France, Portugal, Italy and Florida, there are plenty of opportunities available in the country.

Ms Lamb added that confidence is now returning to overseas markets.

"Over the last couple of years everybody's been a little bit tentative, a little bit scared, but I think we are getting them back on the beat and the toe is being dipped back in the water," she said.

"At the moment we're in a state of safety. For most people, we're going to stick to the countries that we know and love."

It follows comments from real estate firm Idealista suggesting that property sellers in Spain are now accepting lower offers.

The firm noted that buyers can see as much as 20 per cent shaved off the asking price for a home in the country.
