Spain's ski resorts are growing in popularity and likely to attract more Britons as time goes on, it has been stated.
Information manager at the Ski Club of Great Britain Alyn Morgan said that a lot of investment is going into resorts in areas such as the Sierra Nevada range, helping to add to visitor numbers.
He added: "More and more people are skiing in Spain because these Spanish destinations are being advertised to the British tour operator market."
This combination of extra development and a higher profile is making Spanish resorts "much more prominent" in the thinking of the British skiing fraternity, he concluded.
Such developments may prompt some to consider investing in property in Spain's wintersport regions.
The importance to Spain of expanding its appeal beyond beaches was recently stated by Derek Moore, chairman at the Association of Independent Tour Operators.
He commented that the country has "a lot of product to offer other than the beaches", such as trekking in Andalucia.
