Owners of rental accommodation in Spain could be set to benefit from the launch of new flights from the UK.
Low-cost airline Ryanair has confirmed that it will begin operating two additional services to the European country from the start of October.
The carrier will offer direct passage between Leeds Bradford International Airport and Barcelona 4 times a week, while a thrice-weekly route to Alicante will also be introduced.
This could be good news for the tourist trades in these destinations, as it suggests they are likely to attract more holidaymakers in the UK.
As a result, owners of buy-to-let properties in Barcelona and Alicante could potentially cash in on the resulting surge in rental demand.
Bridget Dowling, spokesperson for Ryanair, commented: "[We] are pleased to offer increased destination choice to Spain this winter."
She added that business and leisure travellers would be able to benefit from the two new services.
Alicante was recently highlighted as a hotspot for British holidaymakers by the PriceRunner website, which said it offers much cheaper prices than many other parts of Europe.
