Transport links between Spain and France have been boosted with the launch of the new Motorway of the Sea, which is good news for investors with property in either nation.
The ferry, which is operated by LD Lines, travels between Nantes/Saint-Nazaire in Brittany and Gijon in Asturias, northern Spain, reports the Connexion. In total the journey takes 14 hours and if successful it could start running every day.
In addition to connecting Spain and France, the ferry offers which is described by LD Lines managing director Christophe Santoni a "unique landbridge between the UK and Northern Spain". To travel to Spain, Brits would have to travel to Dieppe or Le Havre in France and then on to Spain.
Recent figures from Experian Hitwise highlighted that Spain remains a top holiday destination for Brits. Anyone wanting to take advantage of the vast number of holidaymakers flooding to Spain could take advantage of the distressed property in the nation and hunt around for a bargain.
