British expats are being attracted to Spain due to the good weather, the results of a new survey have indicated.
A poll by Alliance & Leicester International studying the preferred destinations for Brits living abroad found that of those who have moved to Spain, 92 per cent consider the weather to be the most favoured aspect of life in the country.
And Spain was also said to have a number of other benefits, with 85 per cent stating it is safer than the UK and 69 per cent feeling their quality of life has improved following their move.
The one drawback of living abroad most cited by expats was being away from their friends and family in the UK, the study indicated.
Property investors buying homes in the country may wish to take note of the findings, especially if the current popularity of the country with Britons continues.
One area of the country investors could consider making a purchase in is the village of El Rompido in Huelva, which has recently been chosen to front an advertising campaign for the country.
