Countries in mainland Europe are proving to be very popular with expats from South Yorkshire, it has been revealed.
According to The Emigration Group, residents of places such as Sheffield are increasingly looking into the possibility of relocating to foreign shores.
Indeed, the organisation said the number of enquiries it has received from prospective migrants has gone up this year.
Paul Arthur, director of The Emigration Group, said European destinations in particular, such as Spain and France, are attracting a lot of interest.
Speaking to the Star, he commented: "Many of the clients I advise are basically looking for a better life both for themselves and their children and they see emigration as a way of achieving this."
This comes shortly after insurance group AXA stated that the economic downturn in the UK is fuelling migration to other countries.
The organisation stated that "more and more" people are deciding to leave Britain and move to the sun.
