Torremolinos is on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain, only 5km from Malaga airport. Originally, Torremolinos was a fishing village, but has been rapidly overtaken by tourism. Calle San Miguel, which is lined with shops, runs from the centre of town down to the fabulous beaches. There is a regular train service connecting Torremolinos to Malaga and Malaga Airport to the north of it and south to Fuengirola. La Carihuela, the fisherman's quarter has many quality bars and restaurants, behind which is the ever popular area of Montemar. There is a water park, a crocodile park, an auditorium and botanical gardens, as well as the famous market. There is a huge range of restaurants, bars and nightclubs in Torremolinos.
