After the preliminaries like deciding on a property investment location and agreeing on a price, a contract is drawn up for the buyer and seller to sign. After signing, a lawyer should conduct checks on the property to make sure there are no hidden pitfalls. Once these checks have been carried out, a deposit of around 10 percent of the total is paid to the seller and the documentation is sent to the local Land Registry for deeds and the like to be signed over.
