In a poll which may be of interest to those considering investing in overseas property, Turkey has been identified as one of the best tourism destinations by an industry magazine.
German publication Tourist Report placed Turkey second in a list of 12 Mediterranean and Black Sea locations – ahead of Spain, Altinkum Voices reported.
According to the newspaper, Turkey received praise for its tourist accommodation and service, while the country's marketing campaign in the UK also took top honours.
The magazine's poll saw Turkey compared with the likes of Spain, the Canary Islands, Greece, Portugal and overall winner the Balearic Islands.
Last week, Caroline Hollingworth of Hollingworth and Associates, said that interest in Turkey among overseas property investors had increased significantly over the first half of this year, Easier reports.
Britons are increasingly looking beyond "traditional" markets for their second home and property investments to pursue opportunities within Turkey, she stated.
